I've been playing guitar since I was 12 years old, back in 1986. The year I picked up the guitar, I was introduced to Van Halen, ZZ Top, Hair Metal and I dove into Australian acts like INXS, Hoodoo Gurus, Jimmy Barnes, Johnny Diesel & The Injectors to name a few.
I came to London in 2001 and was floored by the sheer talent in the Blues Jam scene, with its epicentre at Ain't Nothin' But Blues Bar in Soho, London. Since then I've had the honour and privilege to have jammed, played and recorded with many artists in and around the scene. And ultimately, it really galvanised my love for the instrument - but as a musical & songwriting tool and as a powerful social glue that really binds together the artist, the band and the audience into a magical moment we can all share in the few minutes of an awesome song.
This site is about exploring the guitar through its many styles, influencers and players, and its impact on our musical culture. It's ground level, so while the website might be pretty, we're starting this from the ground up with no budget other than our love for the instrument. Hopefully we can keep it going, so join us as we curate what we love about the guitar and its many players.
